Although we are in the midst of enjoying summer 2011, designers are already unveiling what will be hot in 2012. Louis Vuitton S/S 2012, designed by Central Saint Martin graduate Kim Jones, was inspired by Jones' childhood in Ethiopia and Botswana as well as Peter Beard, the artist and long term chronicler of East Africa and its wildlife. The iconic LV Damier check is a reoccurring motif throughout the collection slowly morphing into the blue and red checks of the Masai.
Looks like African fashion week did this in 2012, so just maybe that is where the inspiration came from ? Botswana is far away from Kenya. And these clothes are worn by people, not wildlife .
